Ganesha Acrylic Painting
“Vakratunda Mahakaaya, Suryakoti Samaprabha. Nirvighnam Kuru Mey Deva, Sarva
Kaaryeshu Sarvada”
Ganpati paintings are considered auspicious and are believed to keep away negative
vibes or energy. Many believe that having them around will lead to the successful
completion of tasks. Vinayaka or Ganesha’s big belly represents generosity and total acceptance. Ganesha’s upraised hand depicts protection. It means, ‘Fear not, I am with you’.
Ganesha also has single tusk which signifies one-pointedness. Even the implements
Ganesha wields are symbolic. He carries in his hands the ‘Ankusa’ or Hook signifying
awakening and the ‘Paasa’ or rope signifying control. With awakening, a lot of energy is released, which without proper control, can go haywire.
Vinayaka has the divine mouse “Krauncha” as his mount or vahana. This symbolism
indicates that the mouse represents desire and greed and Ganesha helps in controlling
this.
This Particular work I used red for Vinayaka’s head and trunk, to show his energy and
might. Blue color used for body representing “Nirgunatvam”, that being who has
transcended (gone beyond) the gunas. Yellow is profusely used to symbolize focus,
energy, and overall feelings of happiness.
Hope you like my work. May Ganesha bless you all…!
