Landscape Acrylic Painting
A hyper realistic landscape painting, using the technique of blocked in and glazing painted before adding on the details. The medium used is heavy body acrylics on a canvas board panel. This painting is inspired from a picturesque resort of Shangrila with a heart shaped man-made lake in Skardu, Pakistan. The named Shangrila was inspired from a mythical place Shangri-La mentioned in a 1933 novel ‘Lost Horizon’ by a British author, James Hilton. The soft, pink cherry blossom blooming’s in abundance around the area is where the title of this painting ‘Under This Cherry Blossom Tree’ comes from! My artist’s attempt to paint by using generous amount of vibrant tints of green to give the feel of fresh, early spring morning. The middle ground of this painting remains the focal point; a red temple like structures floating on blue waters, gives a sense of ancient mystic. The painting’s background of mountains, prairies and trees, aims to get a feel of healing and calm sanctuary to the viewers.
