Animal Acrylic Painting
One of my first attempts at painting wild creatures, apart from my recent obsession with multicolored birds, the image of the Red Fox captivated my mind, through its warm hues and deeply contrasting fur textures. Apart from the beauty and beastly appearance of the fox my heart melts at the confusion and sadness emitting from the eyes of the creature.
The red hues like burning flames, bring the much-courted fur to life, adding a vivacity to the creature. Symbolic of the ‘cunning’ nature in animals, the Red Fox has built itself a poor reputation in folklores and myths. The rather harmless and often hunted for its pelt, the Red Fox is a beautiful creature that has adapted to its life amongst Urban encroachment and vanishing prey.
Often targeted as sport by the wealthy and desired for its fur, the creature has adapted to living amongst the growing human population, by becoming nocturnal. Being cunning is just the way the fox survives less often through hunt but scavenging through garbage bags and bins, in the growing urban settlements.
