Indian Painting
The rich culture of Rajasthan is marvelous. The women dress up in their vibrant traditional attire and accessories; have been an inspiration to me as an artist. The Rajasthani traditional wooden art work called Jharokha is the inspiration behind this mural. As an artist I like to mediums in my works. In this particular works. In this particular work I have used clay for the 3D work and canvas mounted on a wooden board for the central painting. I have incorporated Tanjore style with 24k gold foil in making the jewelry. The word ‘Prateeksha’ means waiting for the return of her beloved. The excitement with a hint of anxiousness waiting for the moment she sees him.
“I’ve learned that waiting is the most difficult bit, and I want to get used to the feeling, knowing that you’re with me, even when you’re not by my side.” – Paulo Coelho
This is mixed media painting on canvas.
