Flowers Oil Painting
Flores means flowers in Spanish. Flowers, the universal vessel of human feelings, symbolic of beauty and love, carriers of aroma and vibrant colours. It is daffodils we offer new mothers and white lilies when somebody dies. Contained within them is both the beauty and sadness of human experience. A bouquet of red roses will eventually die but not without being admired and treasured by those who received it. Their beauty fades while the love they embodied remains. I have always loved flowers, their colour, their smell, their freshness. Once, some time ago, I visited a garden where I saw a beautiful group of flowers of many colours together and this view motivated me to paint a similar composition. For this painting, I used a large quantity of oil paint to create the form and texture of the flowers and leaves. Their soft petals are youthful and the bouquet looks very fresh, as if we were looking into a fragrant garden.
