Indian Watercolor Painting
A typical Poothan and Thira performance includes shouts and wild gestures and may include percussion and horns as well as drums. The dancers wear large fan-shaped headdresses and imposing masks, often with sticking-out tongues and bulging eyes. Performers are traditionally from the Mannan Hindu sub-caste of rural Palakkad, southern parts of Malappuram and northern parts of Thrissur. It’s because this is a ritualistic art that’s why I choose the name Thira I used to work on watercolour painting for many years and now I’m really looking forward to expressing my thoughts and ideas on different techniques. It’s my pleasure to display this wonderful painting to everyone who loves the folk arts.
