Indian Woman Painting
“Her face was like the fire-gold glow of dawn, lifting my gaze, drawing me in.” The Artist Kavita Sriram enjoys seeing Characters of Colors dressed in artful detail. Here she portrays a traditional Indian woman beautifully adorned in her jewelry, yet totally Mystical. The Jewelry & floral arrangement are all made in resin clay with the relief technique. Technique – RELIEF PAINTING: Relief is a sculptural technique, where the sculpted elements (CLAY/ TEXTURE PASTE) remain attached to a solid background of the same material. The term relief MEANS to raise. To create a sculpture in relief is to give the impression that the sculpted material has been raised above the background plan, giving it a 3 dimensional effect.
