Tiger Painting
Big Cats in woods has always been a challenge for me because here not only do I have to bring about the might and ferocity of the animal, I have to deal with the density and wilderness of a forest as well. Since I have come from Masai mara and have seen these creatures in their natural habitat, it had always been a desire to capture that essence in form of a painting. The big cat has been sketched and colored using pastel pencils because I thought the fur is best depicted by pastel pencils. Also the intensity of eyes comes out beautifully with these pencils. Oil pastels might not have been able to do justice to it. But the flora in the background is all oil pastels. Also the texture has been added using techniques of oil pastels. To add to the bling, I have given gold foiled texture effect on the body of the animal also.
